Terms of Use
Last updated: 12 October 2026 · Please read this — it only takes a minute.
Welcome, and thank you for using CivilOS™. We have kept these terms short and simple. By using the platform, you agree to them.
1. Please check our work before you build
CivilOS helps you draft, calculate and document faster — but it is a tool, not a licensed engineer. Plans, models, quantities, schedules and AI answers are drafts for your professional review. Anything affecting safety must be checked and signed off by a licensed professional before construction or approval. Please verify every number against your drawing and the applicable code.
2. Your work stays yours
Your drawings, models, photos and project data belong to you. We store them only to run the service for you and your team, and we never use them to train AI models.
3. CivilOS belongs to us — please use it fairly
The CivilOS software — its code, design, screens, calculation engines, templates, rate data and documentation — is proprietary and owned by CivilOS and its founder. All rights are reserved. CivilOS is not open source. Using the platform gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use it through civilos.in for your own work while your account is in good standing — nothing more.
You may not copy, modify, translate or adapt CivilOS or create works derived from it; reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or extract or scrape its code or data; resell, sublicense, rent or rebrand it; or use it to build a competing product — except to the extent the law expressly allows despite this restriction. Please do not overload our servers, and share invite codes, task codes and share links only with people you intend to give access to.
A few third-party components inside CivilOS are used under their own licences, listed on our Third-party licences page. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights those licences give you in those components.
4. Your account
You must be 18 or older to create an account. When you create one we record the date and the version of these Terms and the Privacy Policy you accepted. Please keep your password private — you are responsible for activity under your account. Do tell us if you think someone else has accessed it. The engineering modules need an account; one person, one account — sharing a login to stretch a plan's allowance is not allowed, and we may suspend accounts that do.
5. What we can promise
We work hard to keep CivilOS available and accurate, with backups taken several times a day. Even so, it is provided "as is" — we cannot guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and features may change as we improve. Please keep your own copies of anything contractually important.
6. Plans, payment and refunds
CivilOS has a Free plan (every module, with a monthly allowance) and paid plans — Pro, Max, Enterprise Seats and the customised Enterprise Partnership. The current prices, allowances and any offer are shown on the Plans & Pricing page and may change; a change never affects a term you have already paid for.
- Terms, not auto-renewal. A payment buys a term of 1 month, 3 months or 1 year. Nothing is charged unless you press pay; we do not store a card or mandate.
- The same plan again extends the term you already have.
- A lower plan bought while a higher one is running starts the day the higher one ends, so no paid time is lost. A higher plan starts at once.
- Enterprise Seats bought in a different number are added as seat-days: the seats and days you have plus the seats and days you buy, spread over the larger number of seats.
- Offers. An offer on the Plans & Pricing page applies to the term it is shown against, at the percentage shown for that term, and ends at 23:59:59 India time on its end date. The price on the payment page is the price you pay.
- Test payments. While payments run in Razorpay’s test mode (no money moves), a test payment gives a trial of at most 30 days, whatever term was chosen, and no receipt.
- Payment is taken on a page hosted by Razorpay (UPI, cards, net-banking, wallets, international cards). Prices are set in Indian rupees; other currencies are shown for reference and the charge may be made in rupees.
- Allowances (messages, drawing reads, exports, hours) are per calendar month, or per week where the plan says so, and do not carry over. Hours count only while a module is open and visible.
- One Free allowance per person. The Free plan is for trying CivilOS, so its allowance is counted once per device and once per mailbox:
- what every free account has used on the same device counts together, so a second free account on that device continues from where the first stopped;
- one free account per mailbox — another spelling of the same address, or an address from a throw-away email service, is refused;
- a new account may be asked to confirm its email address by a one-time code before it uses the allowance;
- deleting an account and making it again does not start a new allowance in the same month.
- Enterprise Seats are bought in a minimum of 5; the buyer assigns seats to colleagues' emails and may reassign them. Enterprise Partnership codes are issued under a separate agreement and may be withdrawn if that agreement ends.
- Refunds. A refund request made within 7 days of a purchase is reviewed case by case; write to info@civilos.in with the payment reference. Terms already consumed in substantial part are not refunded. A full refund — or a card dispute decided against the payment — ends the time that payment bought; a partial refund does not change the plan. Statutory rights are unaffected.
- Receipts and invoices. A receipt is emailed for every payment. Numbered GST tax invoices are issued automatically for payments in rupees once CivilOS’s GST registration is active — the receipt and My Account → Billing history then carry the link, and you can add your GSTIN at checkout. Until then a GST invoice can be requested at info@civilos.in.
- Prints on paid plans carry your own letterhead and no CivilOS marks. The professional-review caveat stays on every document, because it is about the document.
7. Responsibility
Because CivilOS is an assisting tool, we cannot accept liability for professional decisions made from its output, or for indirect losses. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to ₹1,000 or what you have paid us in the past year, whichever is higher.
8. Independence
CivilOS is built independently in Jaipur, India. We are not affiliated with Autodesk, Inc. — AutoCAD® and Revit® are their trademarks, mentioned only to describe file compatibility.
9. Law
These terms follow the laws of India, with courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
