Accessibility statement

CivilOS should be usable by every engineer, including those who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, magnification or high contrast. We follow the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) and aim for WCAG 2.1 level AA. This page says honestly what works today, what does not yet, and how to reach us.

What works

• Keyboard. The first Tab on every page offers Skip to content, which jumps past the menu. Menus, buttons and forms are reachable with Tab and Enter.
• Dialogs. Pop-up windows are announced as dialogs, keep the keyboard inside them while open, close with Esc, and return the keyboard to where you were.
• Names and labels. Buttons and links have names a screen reader can read, form fields have labels, and images have text alternatives. An automatic test checks the Dashboard, the BOQ and the QA/QC Register on every change.
• Language. Each page states its language. Menus and navigation are available in 24 languages; the engineering screens are in English.
• Display. A dark theme, and text that can be enlarged with the browser without losing content.

What does not work yet

• Drawing canvases. IndoCAD, Indo-Revit, BIM Studio and Interior Studio are visual drawing and modelling tools. Their sheets and 3D views cannot be read by a screen reader; commands typed at the command line work from the keyboard.
• Some IndoCAD dialogs (plot, array, grid, dimension style and a few others) do not yet keep the keyboard inside them or close with Esc. They are next.
• Charts — the Scheduler’s bar chart and the MIS progress curves — have no text description yet. The numbers behind them are in the task table and the report tables on the same page.
