Interior design software in CivilOS is the Interior Studio: walk inside the building you have already drawn, at eye level, and decide the layout, the furniture and the finishes room by room — then cost them. It runs in the browser with a Free plan and nothing to install, and it works on the same project as the plan, the BIM model and the bill, so the interior is designed on the real building and priced on the real quantities.
It is written for the people who fit out Indian homes and offices: interior designers, architects, contractors and the owner who wants to see the room before the tiles are ordered. Design on the real building
Most interior tools start from a blank room the designer draws again. Interior Studio starts from the building that already exists in the project — the plan drafted in Create Your OWN Plan, the model built in Indo-Revit, or a DWG the client sent, read as a building in IndoCAD. Wall positions, openings and room sizes are the drawing's, so a wardrobe that fits in the studio fits on site.
The furniture and text placed on the floor plan arrive in the studio already positioned, and a change made in the studio — a door moved, a window widened — goes back to the plan and the model. Layers switch off what is not being discussed; the super-screen mode fills a second monitor for a client meeting.
Finishes and cost as part of the design
A finish chosen in the studio is a line in the finishes schedule and a row in the interior cost, priced against the rates you keep. The estimate therefore follows the design as it changes, room by room, rather than being typed once at the end and forgotten. The rows can be pushed to the BOQ module for an IS-code bill with the rest of the works.
How to start
- Have a building. Draw one in Create Your OWN Plan or Space Planning, model one in Indo-Revit, or import a DWG.
- Open Interior Studio and walk to the room; toggle layers to see only what matters.
- Place furniture and choose finishes per room; edit doors and windows where the layout needs it.
- Read the finishes schedule and the cost, adjust, and send the rows to the BOQ.
- Present on the super-screen or export a GIF of the walk.
What CivilOS does not do
- No photorealistic rendering. The view is a working 3D view, not a ray-traced image.
- No lighting, HVAC or electrical design. Fittings are placed; systems are an MEP engineer's work.
- No product catalogues or supplier prices. Rates are yours.
- No modular kitchen or joinery CAM output. Furniture is placed and costed, not manufactured.
- A draft for checking. Structural changes implied by an interior move must be confirmed by a licensed engineer.
Where a browser tool fits
Specialist interior packages earn their licence on rendering quality, manufacturer catalogues and joinery manufacturing output. A designer whose deliverable is the photorealistic image or the CNC file needs one of those.
For the layout, the proportions, the finishes decision and the cost — the part of the job that decides whether the client says yes — a studio that walks the real building in a browser, on the same project as the plan and the bill, is the faster tool, and it costs nothing to start.

Is this free interior design software?
Yes, to start. Create a free account (no card) and the Free plan opens every module, including Interior Studio and Space Planning, with a monthly allowance; prints carry the CivilOS letterhead. Pro, Max and Enterprise Seats plans add more hours and generations and put your own letterhead on every print. The Training Corner, Knowledge Library and Feedback are free without limit.
Where does the building come from?
From the same project: a plan drawn in Create Your OWN Plan or Space Planning, a model from Indo-Revit or BIM Studio, or a DWG/DXF imported into IndoCAD and read as a building. Interior Studio walks that building at eye level, so the rooms are the rooms on the drawing.
Can I cost the interior?
Yes. Each room carries its finishes and furniture, and the interior costing reads them against rates you set, so the estimate follows the design instead of being typed afterwards. The rows can go to the BOQ module for a priced bill.
Does it produce photorealistic renders?
No. The walkthrough is a real-time 3D view meant for layout, proportion and finishes decisions, not a ray-traced presentation image. For a marketing render, export the model (GLB or OBJ from BIM Studio) into a renderer.
Does it design lighting, HVAC or electrical systems?
No. Fittings can be placed and MEP symbols drafted on discipline layers in IndoCAD, but lighting, load, duct and pipe sizing come from an MEP engineer.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No installation: CivilOS opens in an ordinary browser on a laptop, tablet or phone and can be installed as an app from the sidebar. A free account is needed to open the engineering modules; it takes a minute and asks for no card.
Draft for checking. Every safety-critical output of CivilOS is a preparation document. Drawings, quantities, rates, programmes and inspections must be verified, and the result signed off, by a licensed professional before they are issued, tendered, built or paid against.
