Contractor software: win the tender, bill it right, report the site

A civil contractor's month runs on three documents: the tender that won the work, the RA bill that pays for it, and the progress and quality records the client inspects. CivilOS is contractor software built around those three — the department's BOQ priced on CPWD DSR 2023 or your schedule with vendor quotes and your overheads, the 13-column running bill with its deviation statement and 10CC, and the DPR, MIS and QA/QC records from site.

It is made for contractors who work in Indian formats and cannot afford a billing mistake: the bill is cumulative and may show a recovery, the premium touches the total and never a rate, and every number traces back to a measurement. It runs in the browser and on the phone, free to start.

Price it so you can defend it

A tender rate that is a bare number cannot be defended when the client asks for an analysis, and cannot be adjusted when cement moves. Priced here, every rate is a build-up — or a vendor quotation with its date — and overheads and profit are stated, so the bid can be explained line by line and re-priced in minutes.

Bill it so it is not returned

Bills come back for the same reasons every time: a recovery clamped at zero, rates discounted by the premium, totals that do not equal their own subtraction, a deviation not approved. The bill here is built so those cannot happen, and the deviation statement and 10CC statement come from the same figures.

How to start

  1. Open Contract & Tender Evaluation and load the department's BOQ.
  2. Price each item by rate analysis or vendor quotation; set overheads and profit.
  3. Once awarded, start the RA bill from the agreement BOQ.
  4. Report the site — DPR daily, MIS monthly, checklists as work proceeds.
  5. Bill each month from the measurement book; add deviation and 10CC statements when needed.

What CivilOS does not do

Where a browser tool fits

Big contractors run ERPs with purchase, stores, plant and accounts tied to every project, and teams to maintain them.

The contractor running two to twenty works, billing departments in the government format and reporting to a client every month, needs the engineering paperwork done right and fast. That is what this is, and it starts free.

Frequently asked questions

What does contractor software do?
It handles the work a civil contractor does on paper and in Excel: pricing a tender, making the running bills, keeping the measurement book, reporting daily progress and keeping the quality records the client inspects. CivilOS does all of these on one project, so the measured quantity flows into the bill and the progress report.

Is it free?
Yes, to start. Create a free account (no card) and the Free plan opens every module, including tender pricing, RA bills and DPR, with a monthly allowance; prints carry the CivilOS letterhead. Pro, Max and Enterprise Seats plans add more hours and generations and put your own letterhead on every print. The Training Corner, Knowledge Library and Feedback are free without limit.

Can I price a government tender?
Yes. Load the department's BOQ from Excel, price each item by rate analysis on CPWD DSR 2023 or your State schedule, or from vendor quotations you compare side by side, add overheads and profit, and export the priced BOQ.

Does it make the RA bill the way the department wants?
Yes — the government 13-column form, cumulative quantities with recoveries allowed, the tender premium on the total and the agreement rates printed unchanged. Start the next bill from the last one, or from the last bill's Excel if you made it elsewhere.

Can my site team use it on the phone?
Yes. Daily progress and site audits work on a phone; the site audit works without signal and syncs later. Each member sees what their role allows.

Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No installation: CivilOS opens in an ordinary browser on a laptop, tablet or phone and can be installed as an app from the sidebar. A free account is needed to open the engineering modules; it takes a minute and asks for no card.

Draft for checking. Every safety-critical output of CivilOS is a preparation document. Drawings, quantities, rates, programmes and inspections must be verified, and the result signed off, by a licensed professional before they are issued, tendered, built or paid against.
