Construction software for the whole project — from the drawing to the final bill
Construction software in most Indian offices is still a stack of Excel files that do not talk to each other: one for the BOQ, one for the RA bill, one for the DPR, one for the quality checklists, and a drawing someone emailed. CivilOS puts the whole project in one browser platform — drawing, quantities, estimate, bill, programme, daily progress and quality — so the quantity measured from the drawing is the quantity in the BOQ, in the bill and in the progress report.
It is written for Indian practice: rates from CPWD DSR 2023 or your State schedule, bills in the government 13-column form, measurement to IS 1200, steel to IS 2502, quality checklists citing the IS codes they check. It runs on a laptop or a phone with nothing to install, and starts on a Free plan.

One project, not ten spreadsheets
The expensive mistakes on a construction project are copy mistakes: a quantity retyped from the take-off into the BOQ, a rate changed in one file and not the other, a bill that carries last month's figure. When the drawing, the BOQ, the bill and the progress report read the same project, the copy step disappears and so do its errors. Every figure keeps its working — the dimensions behind a quantity, the build-up behind a rate — so a checker can follow it.
Built for the people on the project
The estimator gets a BOQ priced on the DSR. The billing engineer gets a bill that is right the first time. The planner gets a critical path. The site engineer gets a DPR and a checklist on the phone, offline. The owner gets an MIS that adds the sites up. Each sees what their role allows, and the work of one is there for the next.
How to start
- Create a free account and a project.
- Bring the drawing — open the DWG, PDF or IFC, or draw it.
- Take the quantities and price the BOQ on CPWD DSR 2023 or your schedule.
- Plan and report — the schedule, then daily progress and the MIS.
- Inspect and bill — checklists on site, then the RA bill from the measurements.
What CivilOS does not do
- Not an ERP. No accounts, payroll, purchase orders or store ledger.
- No structural or MEP design. It details, quantifies and checks; design comes from your engineers.
- No official standing. Documents follow government formats; certification stays with the engineers who sign them.
- AI only where it reads a document or answers a question; quantities, rates and bills are arithmetic.
Where a browser tool fits
Large construction companies run ERPs that tie projects to purchase, stores, accounts and HR. That is the right system for a company of that size, and it costs accordingly.
The builder with three sites, the contractor bidding and billing government work, the PMC checking bills, the engineer who needs the numbers right today — for them one browser platform with the engineering side of the project, in Indian formats, free to start, is the practical tool.

What is construction software?
Software that runs the paperwork and the numbers of a construction project: the drawings, the quantities and the bill of quantities, the estimate, the programme, the daily progress report, the quality records and the contractor's bills. CivilOS does all of these in one browser platform, on one project, so a figure entered once is not retyped.
Is CivilOS free construction software?
Yes, to start. Create a free account (no card) and the Free plan opens every module, including BOQ, billing, planning, DPR and QA/QC, with a monthly allowance; prints carry the CivilOS letterhead. Pro, Max and Enterprise Seats plans add more hours and generations and put your own letterhead on every print. The Training Corner, Knowledge Library and Feedback are free without limit.
Who is it for?
Builders and developers, contractors and subcontractors, PMC and consultants, government engineers preparing estimates and checking bills, and site engineers on a phone. Each uses the parts of the project they work on; the team workspace gives each member the access their role needs.
Is it an ERP?
No. It does not keep accounts, payroll or a store ledger. It does the engineering side of the project — drawings, quantities, rates, bills, programme, progress and quality — and exports Excel and PDF that an accounts system can take.
Does it work on site without internet?
The Live Site Audit works fully offline with photographs, GPS and signatures and syncs when there is signal. The rest of CivilOS runs in a phone browser and can be installed as an app.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No installation: CivilOS opens in an ordinary browser on a laptop, tablet or phone and can be installed as an app from the sidebar. A free account is needed to open the engineering modules; it takes a minute and asks for no card.
Draft for checking. Every safety-critical output of CivilOS is a preparation document. Drawings, quantities, rates, programmes and inspections must be verified, and the result signed off, by a licensed professional before they are issued, tendered, built or paid against.
